August 15th~

I believe in being strong when
everything seems to be going wrong...

I don't think we left anything unseen while we were
in San Francisco.  At least it seemed that way.  It been a
long time since I have walked this much.  Loved it all.

Known as the “Crookedest Street in the World,”
Lombard Street is one of San Francisco's most popular
landmarks. Every year millions walk or drive it.

Lombard Street is known for the one-way block
on Russian Hill between Hyde and Leavenworth Streets, where
eight sharp turns are said to make it the most crooked street in
the world.  We climbed all 250 stairs up and then going down.

Why is Lombard Street Crooked we might ask?  It
may look treacherous, but Lombard Street's switchbacks
were built to increase the safety of the street. The natural
steep grade was thought to be too dangerous.

Lombard Street, definitely worth a walk over, down, and back up.

We also visited the neighborhood called Haight-Ashley,
made famous by the hippie movement in the 1960's,
Haight Ashbury was once the home to revolutionaries,
famous singers like Janis Joplin and cult leaders.

Haight Ashbury is a thriving San Francisco neighborhood
where cultures and eras meld together, and as I mentioned home
to Janis Joplin and Jimi Hendrick among others. Famous also
for its Flamboyant clothing shops, piercing and tattoo parlors.

In between every place we visited we
always made time for some deliciousness.

We explored Chinatown, of course we visited the
Golden Gate Fortune Cookie Factory.  We saw them
making the fortune cookies.  We sampled and we all ended
with a pretty bag and cookies to bring back home.

We had to check out the cable cars. The San Francisco
cable car system is the world's last manually operated cable
car system and an icon of the city of San Francisco.

Of the 23 cable car lines established
between 1873 and 1890, only three remain.

While the cable cars are used to a certain extent by commuters,
the vast majority of the millions of passengers who use the
system every year are tourists, and as a result, the wait to get
on can often reach two hours or more. They are among the most
significant tourist attractions in the city, along with Alcatraz
Island, the Golden Gate Bridge, and Fisherman's Wharf.

Our days and nights were packed, and boy did we love it.
When we got tired we stopped, had something to eat and drink
then continued on our way to seeing the streets of San Francisco.

One of the many cool things we did in San Francisco
was to ride Waymo. Waymo One, is an autonomous ride
hailing service, it provides rides in an all-electric fleet. Ride
with a self-driving car service in San Francisco, CA.

We were sure we wanted to try it, but we all agreed
that it would just be a very short ride.  Just to say
we experienced it.  Not bad at all.  We made it.

Waymo is a little more expensive than UBER, and
the wait time is longer, but overall similar to UBER and
LYFT.  It was something different to try, and we did.

It was chilly in San Francisco.  After a long day we would
always make a trip to Ghirardell Square and warm up, so that
we can continue on again.  I have had the best of times.

Wishing everyone a good day and let's not forget to
always be grateful.  If you aren't grateful for what you already
have, what makes you think you would be happy with more.
Greeting from The Sunshine State.  Hot! Hot! Hot!

If you do what interests you,
at least one person is pleased.
