My life is not perfect, but I love everything I have...
There was a lot to do after getting back from Canada.
Finally I have caught up with most of the "critical" stuff,
and can now relax a little more. The day I got back
from Canada was something of an adventure.
Myself, Nirvana, Nina and her husband David
all drove together to the airport. Our day began at 3 A.M.
The thing is the nights before we hardly slept much.
Too much partying is what it boiled down to.
I was exhausted and when my head hit the pillow I
slept for 12 hours straight. Not sure I have done this
ever, or if I have, I just cant remember when.
I left Canada on Tuesday. On Monday evening many
of my relatives were scheduled to travel back to Florida.
As everyone probably knows by now, because of
Hurricane Dorian all flights to Florida were cancelled.
Everyone was struggling to find alternate routes.
Nina, David and Nirvana were travelling to Orlando.
The were notified that their flight was cancelled and
the earliest they could fly out would be Friday.
Well that did not sit well with anyone. Nina and
David bought tickets on 3 different airlines, that's because
once we got to the airport their flights just kept being
cancelled. They went from airline to airline
until one had an available flight.
Nirvana also had to buy a new ticket and reroute
her flight. After lots of waiting, everyone made
it home without further cancellations.
I was coming to Chicago so I knew my flight was OK.
Not so, to my surprise all flights going to Chicago were
cancelled. Not because of Hurricane Dorian, but because of bad
weather in Chicago. Go figure. I ended up being delayed.
I made it home. Tired, but happy. Best of all it was
good to see that Arvid missed me. When I go anywhere
for more than one day Arvid finds things for us to do. He said
he wants us to take more vacations to all inclusive places.
Said he did a lot of searches. Just have to wait and see.
I had a really good time in Canada. Being with family
is always special. When we get together it's as if we were
never apart. We grew up close to a few of our cousins, and
when we meet again it's just fun, laughter and friendship.
I still have a few cousins in Canada still unmarried.
Who knows? Maybe another wedding to follow in
the next few years. We all live in so many different parts
of the US, Canada and England that it makes it very
difficult to get together often, so when an occasion
like this arises, I am just happy I am able to go.
It was an wonderful time. but now I am happy
to be back home again with Arvid and Sniff.
Wishing everyone a wonderful day. I am grateful for
all the the people in my life. I'm grateful for everything I
have and the places I'm going and the things I've seen.
I have seen many storms in my life. Most storms
have caught me by surprise, so I had to learn very quickly
to look further and understand that I am not capable
of controlling the weather, to exercise the art of
patience and to respect the fury of nature...
