Hope... is the thing with feathers. That perches in the soul
And sings the tune without the words.
And never stops at all...
Not everyone is happy during these holidays and festive times.
For many these are some of the most terrible times in the year they experience.
Many reasons. I know from experience that being alone is a big one and I also
know that for many not being to buy what they would like for their families also is a big reason.
For Arvid this is one of his least favorite times of all. He always said that when
he was a little boy there was never enough money to go around, and as a child it
was painful to watch the other little kids have toys and stuff at Christmastime and
they had none. This is a very familiar experience many have.
My dad's family was very poor.
They did not have much and toys and presents was never a part of their lives.
Growing up I saw my dad watching the toy trains as they would go around and around
in the display windows. Something he always wanted as a child and never had.
This only made my dad strive to make everything better for us. What we lacked in
toys and things my parents made up for with love and kindness. We also never
had much as kids, but because of my parents Christmastime and every day
will forever be one of the best times of our lives. My dad and mom gave us
what money can never buy. The inspired in us to always be grateful for what we have,
to believe, and to always be happy with what we did have because others may
not be that lucky after all. Thanks to them, I am a happy, adjusted and very confident person.
Remember everyone, don't lose hope for you never know what tomorrow may bring.
Hope is the little voice you hear whisper "maybe"
when it seems the entire world is shouting "no!"
