We dream to give ourselves hope. To stop dreaming
well, that’s like saying you can never change your fate...
Ever since I was a little girl I was always told that my name (Nadiya) means warrior.
I was happy with this and I think I have faced life mainly as a warrior. Never
one to back down, though very shy as a child I was not afraid to stand up
for my rights nor for those of the ones I love. Still the same to this day.
I took it for granted that this was the meaning of my name. Kinda symbolic of me.
Never one to really believe much in these sorts of things, even so I was pleased
to be a "warrior" felt good. Made me think that I was always meant to be the strong one.
Don't have a problem with that. Being the eldest of 5 girls, it was my job to
make sure my sisters were never taken advantage of and that no one messed with them.
Today I still feel the same way towards them and also towards my nieces and nephews.
I also feel the same way towards Arvid's 2 daughters and our little granddaughter. When
it comes to family no one has the right to take advantage of them.
Growing up my dad and mom were and still are too kind. Sometimes I believe that
they get taken advantage of and this really makes me mad and I do want to correct
the situation immediately, but you can't always get what you want.
This morning out of curiosity I looked up the meaning of my name. If
this is true or not is besides the point. It does not mean warrior, instead this
is what I found,
:The meaning of the name Nadiya is 'tender', 'delicate', 'moist', 'caller' or 'hope'.
Gotta say I like it also. Like the part that says hope. Not sure what the moist
is all about, but for now hope is good enough for me. Wishing you all a good day.
Remember that sometimes, it is often in the darkest
skies that we see the brightest stars.

Hope is the thing with feathers
That perches in the soul
And sings the tune without the words
And never stops at all....
