You know it's cold when you go outside and it's cold...
Another cold front is passing through Florida and as far as we go it is way too cold for us.
Waking up to the 50's is not usual for us so you can imagine what how we felt when we woke
up to close to 40 degrees. Yes, even the so called Viking in our family (Arvid) is freezing.
Think he is even colder that either Brutus and I.
Last night at around 8pm the temperature dropped to 54F and kept dropping. As you
can see Brutus is curled up between the sheets. When we checked in on him he was already
under the sheets. He's always cold like his dada. My parents are here visiting from
North Carolina; trying to escape the cold, but it seems like the cold is following them,
but like everyone coming from a cold place they are also very philosophical and say,
"at least it's still warmer than where we live."
Yep that's the attitude. My dad even in the cold is out and about early
in the mornings trimming the trees, pruning the hedge and doing all
sorts of yard work. He cannot rest. He has to be active and stay busy no matter
where he is. My mom also is always busy but in a different way. She has cleaned
the house more than anyone ever has. She is constantly preparing all sorts of delicious
foods for me. No matter how much one tries to lose weight, when mom and dad are
around is just impossible. Not complaining one bit.
For now we will be "enjoying" some winter days. It's predicted to last for
a few days. I just hope it does not linger along for too long. Though I don't like
the heat, I still prefer to be warm rather than cold. Currently this is where we stand:
Looking forward to a good day today. My parents are taking Arvid and
I out to lunch. Yes, it will be good. Always such a good time together.
Arvid's dilemma, "should I have a pitcher or just a couple of glasses of beer?"
All I know is that no matter what it is, it will be good. It always is.
To all of you, stay warm and enjoy each day like it was your last day.
Live life to the fullest because tomorrow is not guaranteed.
A lifetime isn't forever, so take the first chance, don't wait for the second one!
Because sometimes, there aren't second chances! And if it turns out to be a mistake?
So what! This is life! A whole bunch of mistakes! But if you never get a
second chance at something you didn't take a first chance at?
That's true failure,,,
