Every goodbye makes the next hello closer...
Appreciating every ones unique experience is the greatest compliment to yourself and the greatest gift to others....
Some wait with great anticipation for Christmas all year long while others like Arvid just wait for the day to end and to go back to "normal" as he puts it. Not sure, but for some reason he really does not like Christmas. He says that that those were some of the most long and boring days he remembers. Yes, Arvid is unique.
I have to warn my parents to never give him a present because it seems to make him uncomfortable. The best thing for Arvid is to go out and have a nice dinner so that's what they will do for us. All happy and content. My sister on the other hand did not know she was not supposed to give him anything on Christmas day. Thankfully, I intercepted her and he had his present a few days before and they are also taking us out to dinner as a special thank you. Like I mentioned, for Arvid this is the best.
He is not one to appreciate perfumes and colognes Never uses it! Neither do I for that matter. Clothing is also a no-no, that is unless I buy it. I know what I like and what's best for him. Everything else we give to the salvation Army.
I like cards, Arvid does not really care for it, but he does make sure to get me mine. Occasionally we get pictures, but those also have a tendency to end up in storage. As Arvid says, "with Brutus we can't keep anything around in case he gets hurt." Yes, he is special. Most of the pictures we had in frames are now gone. Where I don't know, but put away.
Yesterday as we went to Target, I noticed that they were already dismantling everything Christmas. Seems like Christmas is officially over at least in Target. As we drove around the beach last night we also noticed that there were not that many tourists around. At least the beach was quiet. Very quiet I think for this time of the year. Seems like everyone is affected by the economy.
On my part, I am happy to have some family around for a change. Gives me something different to do. I am also happy Arvid gets along so well with everyone and them with him. Always a pleasure to watch him and my nieces and nephews talk. Always laughter and a relaxed time. So much that I even gave up the front seat. Not something I do often.
Dinner was excellent. We all had a good time and that's what matters.
Remember, be happy for this moment. This moment is your life..
Don’t let anyone tell you that you have to be a certain way. Be unique. Be what you feel...
Life is not about making others happy. Life is about sharing your happiness
with others...
