Do you ever read/see/experience something that immediately takes you back in time? I am missing my sister in a serious way right now....
My sister Nirvana lives in Puerto Rico and from time to time when I feel like I miss Puerto Rico and her all I have to do is look at a certain picture and I remember the exact moment Arvid and I were there with them.
She has one of the most beautiful backyards I have ever seen. The combination the golf course and the mountains as your backdrop is very hard to beat..
I remember us sitting out in the evenings and listening to the coqui's.
The Puerto Rican coquí is a very small - tiny - tree frog about one inch long. The coquíes begin to sing when the sun goes down at dusk. Their melody serenades islanders to sleep. Coquíes sing all night long until dawn when they stop singing and head for the nest. Puerto Ricans love their coquíes and have written poems, stories, and Aguinaldos about them. Going to Puerto Rico and not hearing the Coqui sing is unheard of.
When I think of Puerto rico I picture my sister and the mopes. I see beautiful beaches and friendly people and I can almost taste my favorite foods. It's with good reason that Puerto Rico is known as "La Isla del Encanto."
