Everywhere is walking distance if you have the time...
Living in Chicago, we do not have access to a car on a daily basis. Being in the city we mostly walk, take a taxi or if we need to go on a trip we rent a car. Not a problem. This is actually more convenient because overnight parking in our building is close to $30 per night. Occasionally we do this, for instance when my niece comes over we rent a car to go pick her up and we use the overnight parking.

A good thing about not having a car in the city is that parking is difficult to come by and expensive. Makes more sense to take a cab or to walk. The way I see it, we are getting exercise at the same time. After a day's walk everything has twice its usual value.
One thing that is a bit difficult is going grocery shopping. We have managed to figure out how to do it. We each have our backpacks and we only buy little at a time. This way we go grocery shopping quite often during the week.... Exercise and fresh air never hurt.
Have a fun day all!

I like long walks, especially when they are taken by people who annoy me...
Me thinks that the moment my legs begin to move, my thoughts begin to flow..
