Labor Day is a glorious holiday because your child will be going back to school the next day. It would have been called Independence Day, but that name was already taken...
Labor Day is an American federal holiday observed on the first Monday in September. This is usually a three day weekend with many having Monday off.
Labor Day Weekend symbolizes the end of summer for many Americans, and is celebrated with parties, parades and all sorts of sports events. In high society, Labor Day is (or was) considered the last day of the year when it is fashionable to wear white.
For many college kids, this is a weekend to head home and have some family time. Fun at the beach, BBQ's and that sort of thing. It's also a perfect time for retail business since this is probably one of the biggest sale date during the year. Second only to Christmas and Black Friday. I made sure I got my Labor Day purse:)
Arvid and I are spending it quietly at home with Brutus. Last night we saw the fireworks from our living room. We had a very nice dinner out and spent the evening relaxing at home watching movies with Brutus.
A little Soccer today and if the weather is not too bad maybe out for lunch, but judging from the sky, I think it will be another indoor kind of day with the hot tub in the afternoon. Not bad.
Hope everyone has had a good time so far.
Enjoy!
Sometimes it's important to work for that pot of gold. But other times it's essential to take time off and to make sure that your most important decision in the day simply consists of choosing which color to slide down on the rainbow....
