The secret to life is knowing how to make the bad
times good, and the good times unforgettable...
January 2025 is just about over. Today is the last
Monday of the month. So far 2025 had been good
to us. We've had mom and dad living close to us
for the last few months. I love and cherish it.
Though their time in Florida is coming to an end soon,
we know that they will be back. Come February we will
be having more family to spend time with. Victoria and
Michael will also be arriving in Florida in a few
weeks. More good times to look forward to.
Arvid and I have another fairly busy week but
we also have a few more days to look forward
to spending time with mom and dad.
Yesterday we enjoyed another Sunday outing with them.
Dinner and then walked around the shops a little. Another
very good outing with mom and dad. I have to thank Arvid
for always being so very kind and patient with them.
Once again we enjoyed stories from my dad and Arvid.
There was so much laughter comparing the culture differences.
Arvid told of how when you get invited to a "party" in Norway
you usually take your own liquor. We once were invited to a family
BBQ in Norway. I was completely shocked when I saw everyone
taking out their own steaks to BBQ. It was an experience.
I grew up differently. As my dad told Arvid, "when you're
invited to a party in Guyana, and this is a party. If you brought
your own food or liquor the host was offended and would
send you out to take it back home and then return." I grew
up in Puerto Rico where hospitality knows no boundaries.
My heart is hurting today. Last night before going
to bed I checked up on "my" eagle family as usual. It
was a shock to read that that E24 the eldest of the
two eaglets (by 3 days) had died. I'm so sad.
Life moves so fast. You gotta
document the good times man...
