Until one has loved an animal, a
part of one’s soul remains unawakened...
As we were pulling up to my parents' place
yesterday I asked Arvid how did I look. He said, "it looks
like you've been crying." I just can't get over the heartbreak
of the two eaglets E24 and E25 dying. I can't get over
the parents, M15 and F23 grieving. Yesterday they
hardly moved from the branch above the nest.
I feel the grief of M15 and F23. It's a horrible feeling. Looking
for their babies and the nest is empty. I remember when Brutus
died how quiet the world around me was. So very quiet.
I know this is nature and that it happens everyday, at the
same time, it is not everyday that we have live cameras
following the lives of the parents and their eaglets. So
yeah, I got attached. I love them and now I grieve them.
As of right now Wednesday January 29th 6:00 AM
in the morning Eastern Time Zone, I have not seen anything
yet stating that either M15 or F25 have died or are in distress.
I hope they weather this "storm" for our hearts can't handle
more heartbreak. The death of the eaglets has affected
not only the nation, but people from all around the world
that come to see then and that that follow them.
Empty Eagle Nest No more eaglets for this season💔
To all a good day. For us who follow the North
Fort Myers Eagles nest it's a waiting game to see what
happens. We all pray that M15 and F23 are okay.
Sometimes losing a pet is more painful
than losing a human because in the case of
the pet, you were not pretending to love it...
