When you feel homesick,’ he said, ‘just look up.
Because the moon is the same wherever you go...
I wake up to the squealing sound of the seagulls. Not
always great, but most of the times I am already awake so
it does not bother me. Now Arvid, that's a different story.
The may look cute and innocent, but if you had to listen
to them squealing all day, you might change your opinion.
One of these seagulls stole Arvid's ice-cream cone
a few summers ago. They are little thieves 😂
No matter where you go, they are there. I think they're cute.
On Sunday we had some time to go for a little walk.
Actually a long walk. The Norwegian countryside
is very beautiful No questions about that.
The other day as we were having dinner with Arvid's
brother and family, his son Chris said to me, "why the heck
would anyone choose to come to Norway for a vacation?"
We know why we come. Arvid has all his family here.
The other day we went to an Oriental grocery store in Horten.
Probably the only one, and of all things I happen to find
one of my favorite fruit, longan. I usually get them in
Florida at the Whole Foods store or The Swap Shop.
Now I can also get them in Horten. So happy.
Yesterday it rained most of the day. Seems this
is what the summer will be. Wet and cold.
As soon as the rain stopped we took a little trip to see the girls.
Little Amelia is having trouble with her tonsils, but you won't
know it from the way she acts. She's happy and always
smiling. She wanted to comb my hair as well.
As always it was a good time with Michelle and the family.
Love those girls and yesterday Amelia called me bestemor
so many times. I was so happy. Let's see if she will today.
All of that being said, I miss home. I miss my Sniff and all of a
sudden last night I was very homesick. I know it had to do
with Sniff's pet sitter not texting until closer to midnight
(Norway time). I tried not to panic. Didn't work.
It helps to have a few familiar things with me.
