Not everything that is faced can be changed,
but nothing can be changed until it is faced...
On Sunday Arvid and I drove to Fort Myers Beach
wanting to check out how progress was coming along after
Hurricane Ian just about wiped it out last September
the first time, you would not notice the changes, more like the progress made.
It's a slow process. It still looks bombed in many places, but the people
were there. Restaurants were open. It's SLOWLY coming back.
The clock which was destroyed in hurricane Ian is back. It may
not seem much, but it's a huge thing for those living on the beach.
It's a sign of hope. The new Times Square Clock in Fort Myers Beach
(FMB) has been officially unveiled one year after Hurricane Ian swept
away the original clock. The new clock was installed on Sept. 14.
Arvid and I had lunch at Doc Ford's. There was live music,
ocean breeze and just a good ambiance. Definitely going back.
The FMB pier before Ian. The sunsets are one of a kind.
To all a good day. I continue with my rechecks. So far so good.
Some people want it to happen, some wish
it would happen, others make it happen...
