Beauty Foods For Younger-Looking Skin

I'm pretty sure there's a lot more to life than being really, really, ridiculously good looking. And I plan on finding out what that is.....

How many of us have not just sat in the sun and baked when we were much younger without giving a thought to the effects the sun would have on our skin later on in our lives...?

All those hours in the sun gave us what we thought then was a beautiful, bronzy tanned body.

Today I realize the sun exposure just accelerated my skin’s aging process.  Now that I’m older and wiser—and not anxious to look the part—I’m wearing more sunscreen to protect my skin from the outside in.  Science has shown that eating more of these foods will protect the skin from the inside out.

Keep your skin looking younger—for the rest of your life—with these 4 foods:

Strawberries:  We all know strawberries are delicious, but they are also nutritious, and ideally should be a part of everyone's daily diet. Eating more vitamin C-rich foods, such as strawberries, may help to ward off wrinkles and age-related drynessThe USDA recommends that every American eat at least five servings of fresh fruits and vegetables daily, but unfortunately, most people don't even come close to that. Adding fresh strawberries to your diet, whether they are in salads, smoothies, or on their own, is a great way to get the servings of fruit you need for a well-rounded body and a healthy immune system.

Tomatoes: Tomatoes get their red hue from lycopene, a carotenoid that may help to keep your skin smooth.  Scientists think an antioxidant, lycopene, which gives tomatoes their colour, can neutralise harmful molecules produced in skin exposed to the sun's ultra-violet rays.

Tofu: Tofu and other soyfoods, such as edamame and soymilk, may help to preserve skin-firming collagen because they are rich in isoflavones.  researchers believe that isoflavones help prevent collagen breakdown.

Tuna: Eating tuna—and other omega-3-rich fish, such as salmon, sardines and trout—may help keep your skin looking youthful thanks to the omega-3 fat EPA.... EPA has been shown to preserve collagen.

We all love to eat, and many of us equate healthy eating with boring, tasteless meals. Thankfully it doesn't have to be that way. It's very possible to eat foods you truly love while also improving your health and losing weight. Experiment with healthy food options and find some healthy foods that you really enjoy eating.

Eating right and exercising regularly does wonders not only for your body, but also for your mind. When you feel good physically, you are happier. Many people seek happiness in pills and therapy... when positive lifestyle changes could easily give them the sense of empowerment, strength, freedom and joy that they're really seeking...

cheers all!

Just remember....Those who have no time for healthy eating will sooner or later have to find time for illness.  Be well all and remember healthy eating does not mean you have to give up on your favorite "bad" foods.. moderation is the key to everything...

It takes more than just a good looking body. You've got to have the heart and soul to go with it......

until next time...
