Stalked By A Bird!!!

We all have a fear of the unknown what one does with that fear will make all the difference in the world.....Only the unknown frightens men. But once a man has faced the unknown, that terror becomes the known....

crashing into the window..
I am not sure what is going on but, there is a bird that has been acting pretty strange ever since we got to Eleuthera.  Strange meaning this bird has been doing everything possible to get into the house.  Same behaviour as a stalker!!!

still staring..

It keeps flapping its wings and flying straight into the windows making a very loud sound...like something just crashing into the window.

In the beginning both Arvid and I thought it was just too cute...here's this tiny little thing and it appeared like as if he had suction pads on his "feet" because he would just fly into the window and stand vertically...a pretty amazing feat:)...in the beginning but not anymore!!

watching me through
the windows in the office
Now after 2 days it is getting a little spooky because this bird is erratic.  He tries to barge through the glass and makes this horrible crashing sound...he does not give up.  If I go to the office he tries to crash into the office window, when I am cooking he crashes  (loudly) into the kitchen window same when I go to the bedroom or living room.  It's like as if the bird was watching my every move.

I am not superstitious but...I am a bit spooked right now.  What do I do right away?  I just called my mom and told her about it.  To my surprise she told me that about a month ago the same thing was going on at their home in North Carolina.
staring from the deck...

Seems like they had the same experience with a bird.  Then all of a sudden she starts to describe her bird.  Lord in Heaven it is the same bird we have here in Eleuthera.  Granted birds look alike but hearing her describe the bird that tried to crash into their window for about a month and looking at the bird crashing into our window....well now I am starting to wonder what's going on.

My mom said it was my grandmother trying to visit me....if that's the case I am happy.  Right away I found some bread and scattered it for the bird.

Not knowing the why of the birds behaviour I did some goggling and found this:

Is a Bird Repeatedly Flying into a Window an Omen of Death?

staring from the tree..

About 4 years ago around springtime we had an unusual event occur on our little farmhouse; a Robin seemed to desire to make entry into our home. She would fly 3 to 6 feet away from our window, then fly at it until

hitting it, then would back off and repeat the process. When we told others about this strange bird repeatedly flying into a window, this is when someone told us it was a bad omen. How bad? The Old Wives tale says it means someone in your family is going to die within the year.

crashing in...
We searched this behavior on Google and sure enough we found plenty of articles about birds flying into windows as being a premonition of death. Before the year was over, my father passed away from Alzheimer's. I knew he was ill, he was well into his 80's so it was no real big surprise, but in my nearly 60 years of life I have never witnessed such an event until this happened, so in 60 years time was this just a coincidence or is there some mysterious sense out there that tells animals and in this case a bird, that death is coming to a loved one?

STALKER!!!

This is the exact behavior of the bird trying to get into our home...now let me ask what would you think?

I found this video on YouTube..this is the exact sound I hear.
Sounds a bit paranoid but this has been going on since we got here.  At first I was worried about the bird being hurt, then of it getting hurt...now I am just a bit worried about its strange behaviour especially after what I goggled...

There are things known and there are things unknown, and in between are the doors of perception...I believe in everything until it's disproved. So I believe in fairies, the myths, dragons. It all exists, even if it's in your mind. Who's to say that dreams and nightmares aren't as real as the here and now....even stalker birds:))

 until next time...
